Advanced electrical steels engineered to support efficient, reliable electric machines across industrial and automotive applications - from proven industrial grades to high-performance e-mobility solutions
End-to-end technical and supply support to strengthen performance, flexibility and long-term programme stability.
Electrification demands more than materials, it demands a partner. ArcelorMittal combines advanced electrical steels with application expertise to help engineers deliver greater efficiency, scalable manufacturing and lower carbon impact.
The expansion of renewable energy, power grids, decarbonisation and industrial automation is driving demand for electrified equipment, and for highly efficient electrical steels.
From improving motor efficiency in hydro, wind and turbo generators to powering rail, e-buses, ships and switchgear, our fully and semi-processed non-oriented steels and pole sheets deliver consistent, industrial-scale magnetic performance. They also provide the flexibility to adapt to evolving assembly methods.
The global shift to electric vehicles is increasing demand for advanced electrical steels in electrified transport.
Our solutions improve traction motor and powertrain efficiency, supporting compact, high-performance designs with optimised power density, thermal stability and durability from development through to series production.
They enable you to reduce CO₂ emissions, extend range and enhance performance across electric and hybrid platforms.
Reduce lifecycle CO2 emissions with our XCarb® green‑steel certifications and hydro‑powered plants that help you to choose verified, lower carbon footprint electrical steels.
Work with our experts from concept through to production, helping you develop innovative, high‑performance, efficient solutions.
Configure and optimise your motors and generators in partnership with us, using our advanced material data, simulations and digital modelling tools to help you achieve your goals.
We understand the importance of supply chain security and have therefore opened a new production plant in France. We are now the only electrical steels supplier in Europe with two upstream mills and two downstream finishing lines. The new Mardyck site, situated in Northern France, adds an additional 200kt of electrical steel production capacity to our operations, further strengthening our local-to‑local supply for both electric motors and generators.

Nidec Power, a global leader in generator technologies, and R.Bourgeois, a specialist in precision lamination punching, wanted a reliable electrical steel partner to support them in their provision of high-performance generators for the fast-growing data centre market. With mission-critical backup power systems in high demand, the need for generators continues to grow, as does demand for high quality non-oriented electrical steels for rotors and stators. Working in close partnership with Nidec Power and R.Bourgeois, we can provide all their electrical steel requirements from our Mardyck production site. This has ensured they can maximise the market opportunities presented by the AI‑driven surge in power demand, whilst offering local‑to‑local supply chain peace of mind for their high‑performance generators.
We can meet your high-efficiency non-grain-oriented electrical steel needs worldwide.
